Burr Johnson Mosher III, 73, of Goose Creek, South Carolina passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on June 21, 2026.

Burr was born on October 4, 1952, in Somerville, NJ to the late Burr Johnson Mosher Jr and the late Joan Finneran Mosher. He attended SUNY Plattsburgh where he met his wife, Heidi. They married in June 1979 and went on to welcome four children and eight grandchildren.

Burr built a noteworthy career, retiring as the Vice President of Bids and Contracts for Sprague Energy. Following in his father’s footsteps, he was always the first person in the office, claiming these quiet, early morning hours were his most productive. Through his leadership, work ethic, and ability to remain calm under pressure, he earned the respect of his colleagues and peers.

His dedication to work was exceeded only by his love for and commitment to his family and friends. Burr was known for his steadfast reliability, showing up for those he loved, near and far, without hesitation or expectation of reciprocation. His help and support were always given quietly and without fanfare, but often with a side of his sarcastic wit.

During retirement, Burr enjoyed his new freedom by exploring Charleston with Heidi- frequenting new restaurants, holding season theater tickets, and collecting paintings by local artists to adorn their home. At home, Burr enjoyed being Heidi’s sous chef and chief cookie taster.

Burr loved golf, playing 5-6 days a week during his retirement. He found joy in both the game and the players, forming many strong friendships over the years. He would often say, “Any day playing golf is a good day.”

He always prioritized his children, and later his grandchildren, setting aside his hobbies to show up for them in both the momentous occasions and daily life. His golf buddies often heard him announce that “the animals”, as he affectionately called his grandkids, were coming and he would not be available to golf. He never hesitated to give up a day on the course for time with his family.

In addition to his passion for golf, he was a self-taught woodworker, spending countless hours in his workshop fulfilling custom orders for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Heidi Balmer Mosher, his four children Meghan Mosher of Syracuse, NY, Caitlin (Craig) Eppolito of Clayton, NC, Mackenzie (Louis) DiNardo of Pittsburgh, PA, and Burr Johnson Mosher IV of Clayton, NC; eight grandchildren Garrett, Aiden, and Teagan Mosher, Cole and Henry Eppolito, and Leonora, Louis, and Emilia DiNardo; sisters Stephanie Comfort of Virginia Beach, VA, Lisa Buckley of North Andover, MA, and Jennifer (Peter) Frassica of Middleton, MA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Mosher.
