Burgess "Biff" Beck Colwell, Jr., 45, of Charleston, South Carolina, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 9, 2014. The family will host a Gathering of Friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Burial will be private.

Biff was born July 28, 1969 in Charleston, South Carolina, and spent his life in the Charleston area. He was the son of the late Burgess Beck Colwell and Katherine Peters Colwell Rogers of St. Petersburg, Florida. He loved the outdoors and was an avid boater and an accomplished carpenter. He was employed in the field of construction.

Biff is survived by his son, Colin Beck Colwell of Isle of Palms, SC; his step-mother, Susan H. Colwell of Mount Pleasant, SC; his sister, Kimberly Colwell Rosema and her husband, George of Augusta, GA; his half-brother, Christopher T. Colwell and his wife, Erin of Daniel Island, SC; and his nephew, Hunter Colwell and niece, Caroline Colwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Biff's name to the American Heart Association of SC Memorial Processing Center, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
