Belding, Bubba a.k.a. James Mathew, 79, of Ravenel, South Carolina, husband of Marilyn Belding died Tuesday at a local hospital. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 4:00 p.m. Fellowship will begin at 1:00 pm until time of service at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel.
Bubba was born September 7, 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Charles Mathew Belding and Inez Murray Belding Lee. He was previously employed at Carolina Seafood and Smitty's Appliances and retired from The Piggly Wiggly Company in 1999. Bubba served in the Army from 1957 to 1960. He was a very caring and loving man, always giving to others.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn and five children, David Belding (Mikka), Sherry Belding Maull (Tim), Robert Burchfield (Pam), Lisa Hunt (Stuart), Vicki Ayers (Mark); a sister Marion Knight (Raymond); seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many family members and friends who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Parker Belding and son, James Charles Belding.
Bubba's family always came first, but he was always there if needed by anyone. Bubba loved raising and caring for his four-legged children. He had been an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors and fellowship with the members of the Hickory Hill and Providence Hunt Clubs.
