Bruce Finch Hollister

Bruce F. Hollister of Daniel Island, SC passed away peacefully on October 12, 2018 with his wife Kathy by his side. He was born on May 29, 1932 to the late Frederick B. and Olive Finch Hollister of Summit, New Jersey.

He attended the Summit Public Schools and graduated from Amherst College. A long and rewarding career was spent with IBM where he held many positions until he was recruited by AT & T where he worked until his retirement at age 65. Anyone who met Bruce, knew his passions in life were his family, especially his grandchildren and playing tennis, a sport in which he excelled. Bruce was a kind and gentle soul who would help out anyone who asked for his help.

He was a member of Christ Church in Short Hills, New Jersey and the Short Hills Club. After spending many years in Short Hills, NJ, Bruce and his wife, Kathy, retired to Charleston, SC in 2007. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, being with friends and family and walking his favorite beach on Sullivan's Island and, of course, tennis.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his brother, Fred. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughters, Katy (Brad Miller), Abby, both of Cincinnati, OH and Molly (Matt Nakari) of Louisville, CO. Grandsons Ryan and Luke Miller of Durham, NC and granddaughters, Addie and Langely Nakari of Louisville, CO. He is also survived by stepdaughters, Melissa Santaniello, Laura Baird (Todd) and Noelle Santaniello, his nephew Fred Hollister (Carol) and great niece, Lucy and great nephew, Sam of Boston, MA, step grandsons, Julian and Leo Baird and his faithful buddy, Winnie who would always be at his side for golf cart rides.
