Brian William Murray

Brian William Murray passed away on July 24, 2022 at the age of 55, in his home town of Charleston, South Carolina. Despite any obstacles life threw at him, Brian’s love and pride for his daughters was always evident. Surviving Brian are his daughters Brianna C. Murray of Highland Park, NJ, and Bailey K. Murray of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his four brothers, Mike G. Murray and wife Mary of Charleston, SC, Gary E. Murray and wife Pam of Fredericksburg, VA, Bruce D. Murray and wife Donna of Charleston, SC, and Dale A. Murray and wife Lynda of Charleston, SC, as well as five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Milton G. Murray Sr. and Juel Bennicker Murray.

Brian was born on September 24, 1966 in the same neighborhood where he raised his two daughters and spent most of his adult life. He graduated from St. Andrews Parish High school in 1984 before studying Industrial Drafting and Civil Engineering at Trident Technical College. Notable jobs included Maintenance Mechanic positions at Robert Bosch and Thorne Inc.

Most weekends Brian could be found enjoying football or Nascar and one of his favorite memories was the Richard Petty Driving Experience.  Additionally, Brian loved the outdoors and frequently spent time at the beach, fishing, camping, grilling, or just relaxing in the sunshine.  Lastly, two of Brian’s favorite topics were animals and food.  He frequently cooked both new dishes and well-loved breakfast classics, and never missed a chance to spend time with his pets or observe animals outdoors.

Brian’s relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation and funeral service on Saturday, July 30, 2022 located at the J Henry Stuhr West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414.  The visitation will take place at 1 PM, directly followed by the Funeral Service at 2pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, a cause that Brian felt strongly about.
