Brian Gregory Lanier, Sr.

Brian Gregory Lanier, Sr., 59, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of 35 years to Angela Carolyn Fuller Lanier, was peacefully taken home by God on Thursday, June 20, 2024 after a hard fought battle with his disease. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in the West Ashley Chapel at 1:00 pm, and burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Part of the Cherokee Nation, Brian was born November 19, 1964 in Colorado Springs, CO, son of Geraldine Beatrice Lattie Harrison and the late William Taft Lanier, Sr. Family and friends knew Brian to be the ultimate handyman. As an electrician and HVAC worker, he helped build homes here in Charleston. He then was Manager of the Icee Corporation for SC and GA until transferring to the family business. In his free time, Brian enjoyed fishing, camping, reading old comic books, listening to music, playing the drums, and visiting Edisto Beach. He was a Christian who loved his family and loved the Lord. 

In addition to his wife and mother, Brian is survived by his children: Brian Lanier, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Joseph Lanier of Charleston, SC, Sarah Lanier of Charleston, SC, and Kristen Mason (Michael) of Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren: Brian Lanier, III, Jonathan Jackson, and Kinsley Logue; brother, William Taft Lanier, Jr. of Summerville, SC; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his father, Brian was preceded in death by his brother, David "Brad" Bradley Lanier.
