Brian Everett Carlow, 51, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Janell Mobert Carlow entered into eternal rest Friday, March 17, 2017. The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 21, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service following. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Old St. Andrews Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road at 3:00 p.m.
Brian was born March 5, 1966 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to Roy Lyman Carlow and Bonnie Jean Morris Church. Brian was a Lead Mill Adjuster with Nucor Steel for 17 years. Brian led a fun filled life - family, sports and friends were his truest passions. After graduating Garrett High School in 1984 he went on to play football at Newberry College and was red-shirted, graduating in 1989. He then played American Football in Italy. He taught and coached at Goose Creek High School for a short time with coaching being his love. Brian met his wife Janell on a flight while she was working as a flight attendant, they married and had 3 gorgeous children. He was friends to so many.
Brian was an amazing husband and extremely proud father. He enjoyed golf, playing softball and loved most every sport. He was a lifelong devout Red Sox baseball fan, NC Tar Heels fan and Clemson Football fan. Brian was a warrior in every sense of the word, he fought through leukemia in 2007 and worked while undergoing chemotherapy from his diagnosis last January. It is truly challenging to sum up his life in short as he is, and will always will be loved by so many.
He is survived by his caring wife of 17 years, Janell Carlow of Charleston, SC, mother and step-father, Bonnie Church and James Jacobs of Charleston, SC; father and step-mother, Roy and Linda Carlow of Ladson, SC; three phenomenal children daughter, AvaGrace Dyann Carlow (9), two sons, Grayson James Carlow (12), Bentley Lyman Carlow (14) all of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Karen Carlow McKamey (Lance) of Charleston, SC, Beth Carlow Morgan (Chad) of Summerville, SC; brother, Jeffrey Barton Carlow of Ladson, SC; four nieces, Ava Morgan, Lane Bentley, Lauren and Leah Fruehling; three nephews, Jonah Jackson, Charles Morgan, and Colt Parson. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Doris and Lyman Carlow, Joe and Irene Morris.
