Brian Robert Carey Brooks

Brian Robert Carey Brooks, 84, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, husband of Dolores Baez Brooks, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. His graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Beaufort National Cemetery at 12:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Brian was born August 23, 1939 in Beardmore, Ontario, son of the late Robert Currie Brooks and Maria Gaal. During his 20 years of service in the US Navy, Brian worked aboard the USS Regulus, the USS Constellation, the USS Oak Ridge (where he met Dolores in 1972), the USS Simon Lake, and the USS Jesse L Brown. He also worked in naval commissary stores in Corpus Christi, Texas; Rota, Spain; and Charleston, South Carolina. After retiring from the navy as a chief, Brian worked as a supply technician with the Charleston Naval Base for 14 years, and started working as a supply specialist for VT Milcom in 1999. He also loved carpentry and enjoyed working in his garage.

In addition to his wife, Brian is survived by his son, Jose Luis Brooks Baez; daughter, Maria Auxliliadora Clapp; grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Anderson and David Lee Greene (Katelyn); and great-grandchildren, Ally Crawford, Adam Brooks, Stella Greene, Harper Greene, and Audrey Greene. In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his brothers, Patrick Brooks, William M. Brooks and Myles Brooks.
