Brenda Altman Tumbleston

Brenda Altman Tumbleston, 85, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, wife of the late Gerald L. Tumbleston, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel at 12:00 pm, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Brenda was born September 18, 1939 in Georgetown, South Carolina, daughter of the late James Manning Altman and Pearl Cooper Altman. She was the sweetest and kindest woman and known for her beautiful smile. Although tiny in stature, she was extremely strong in many ways. Brenda always put her five children first instead of herself. She was also a wonderful wife and caregiver to her husband and mother-in-law in their time of need. She loved being around her family and all her grandchildren. She was loved by everyone she met.

One of the things Brenda enjoyed most of all was going to "Cousins Week". She was extremely close to her sisters and cousins who would gather once a year, usually somewhere near the beach. They would laugh, eat, play games, and enjoy each other's company. She didn't have much of an opportunity to go on vacation in her early years, so "Cousins Week" was her time to enjoy herself.

She was loved by everyone who came to know her. She will be missed by all.

She is survived by sons, Gerald L. Tumbleston, Jr., James Clinton Tumbleston (Michelle); daughters, Paula I. Hopton, Sherri C. Simonin (William), Vickie L. Arbogast (Robert); sisters, Sally Altman, Nina Epps (Scott); grandchildren, Joseph Sumersett, Holly Hopton, John Bianchi, Noelle Bianchi, Katie Tumbleston, Emma Tumbleston, Sophie Tumbleston. Courtney Logan Tumbleston, Hannah Tumbleston, James Cooper Tumbleston, Andrew Pybas, and Patrick Owen Pybas; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
