Brenda Louise Strange

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Louise Strange, of Summerville, South Carolina, announce her entrance into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the age of 63.

Brenda was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on December 31, 1960. She moved to Florida in the 1970's, along with her brothers Woody and David to live with their father, Fleetwood Guin, in Riviera Beach. There she would attend, and graduate from Suncoast High School in 1979. After completing school, her creativity and talent would be displayed as an accomplished cake decorator until finding her love for all things green, and contributing to the beauty of the landscaping at PGA National Golf Club.

In 1989 Brenda married the love of her life, Paul Strange, with whom she had just celebrated 35 years of marriage. The couple moved to Charleston in 1994, and together they continued to share a love for the outdoors, trading their windsurfing equipment for a camper. Having many beloved pets throughout the years, Brenda's welcoming smile was overshadowed only by the kindness she showed to all she knew. There has never been a kinder soul.

Brenda loved the delicate hummingbirds, butterflies and flowers of her garden.

She always loved music, and although she found comfort in the music of Willie Nelson and Tina Turner, she also loved the familiar hymns of the church. Brenda shared her warmth, and her incredible sense of humor, with her many friends, and was perhaps most proud of her role as "favorite aunt" to her nieces and nephews.

Brenda was predeceased by her mother, Ida Smith, father, Fleetwood Guin, mother in law, Juanita Strange and father in law, Jim Strange.

She will be forever missed by her husband, Paul, her brothers Fleetwood (Cyndi) Guin, Jr., and David (Lynn) Guin, her "Daddy" Eric Smith, her brothers in law Brent (Alecia) Strange, David (Chris) Strange, Mark (Lee Anne) Strange, her five nieces (Amy Guin, Erin Guin, Diane Strange, Sarah Strange and Christena Strange), and five nephews (Judson Guin, Nathaniel Guin, Patrick Strange, Matthew Strange and Philip Strange) as well as 11 great nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Charlie.

A small family service will be held at a later date.
