Brenda Elaine Howard, 65, of North Charleston, SC, wife of Larry David Howard, died Thursday, March 27, 2014. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014, in the Cooper River Baptist Church, 1059 Crawford Street, at 3:00 pm with burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL.
Brenda was born March 17, 1949 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Johnnie Nolin and the late Ruby Elaine Lee Nolin. As a young girl she was a cheerleader for Whipper-Barony Park and worked as a stock counter at Edwards Dime Store. She graduated from Chicora High School. She worked at Flanders Carpet, was a Tupperware Representative and retired from the Department of Vital Records for the State of SC. She was a member of Cooper River Baptist Church, enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of others. Brenda liked to travel, square dance, and shop. She enjoyed flowers and butterflies.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry D. Howard of North Charleston, SC; sons, Donald Howard and his wife, Sonya, of Ridgeville, SC and Jeremy D. Howard of North Charleston, SC; sister, Nancy Beck and her husband, Wayne, of Spencer, TN; brother, Wayne Nolin and his wife, Linda, of North Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Paul, Sierra, Andrew, Madison and Dakota; aunt, Faye Hiers and her husband, J.C., of North Charleston, SC; uncle, Gary McJunkin of North Charleston, SC; special friends, Irene Alexander and Jackie Easterling; nieces, nephews and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and aunt, Darlene McJunkin.
