Eric Newsome, 19, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 3, 2023. His graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Garden, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd., at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends Friday, June 9, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Eric was born July 20, 2003, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, beloved son of Brandon Cane Newsome and Megan Ann Schlichter.  His friends were his chosen family, he loved being part of Truck Nation, and working on all kinds of trucks, cars and motorcycles. Eric will be remembered for his contagious laughter and kind heart. He was a bright light to all who knew him. He is gone too soon and will be missed by his family and friends. Eric loved them more than anything.

He is survived by his parents, Brandon Newsome and Megan Schlichter of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Isabel Newsome of Isle of Palms, SC; brother, Shane Newsome; grandparents, Rita Schlichter and Keith Schlichter and Tasia McManus; Aunt Kylie  Grieco (Vito), and Aunt Kim Masten (Shawn); and many cousins.
