Bradley Brent Burnett, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Brad was born on May 11, 1952, in Millersburg, Ohio, to Ralph and Clara Burnett. He spent his early years in Shreve, Ohio, and went on to graduate from the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Brad began his career as the IT Director at Wooster Community Hospital before making a career change that would lead to many years with Abbott Laboratories. He began with Abbott in Ashland, Ohio, and later relocated to the company’s plant in Laurinburg, North Carolina. His career then took him to Chicago, Illinois, before ultimately bringing him back to Columbus, Ohio. At Abbott Laboratories, Brad built a distinguished career and ultimately served as Divisional Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the Ross Products Division.

Brad was known for his love of coaching and, above all, for being there for his family. He coached his two children, Bo Burnett and Allie Burnett Delaney, in nearly every sport they played, including soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball. When he became a grandfather, Brad came out of coaching retirement to coach all four of his grandchildren in T-ball, creating even more special memories with them. He also shared his love of the game by coaching the Charleston Yankees in the Men’s Adult Baseball League.

Outside of the ballfield, Brad enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and taking cross-country road trips, golfing, and spending time walking along the beach. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, and was a true jokester who could always bring a smile to those around him. Whether he was coaching from the sidelines, cruising on his Harley, enjoying time with family, or simply sharing a good laugh, Brad had a way of making life more fun for the people around him.

Above all, Brad was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He shared 51 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janet Elaine Iceman Burnett, building a life filled with love, family, laughter, and countless memories. Brad cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family and took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. Some of his happiest moments were simply being together with the people he loved most. One of those special memories was celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip to Big Sky, Montana, a trip that brought everyone together and created memories the family will treasure forever.

Brad is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Elaine Iceman Burnett; his children, Bo Burnett (Jamie) and Allie Delaney (Bryan); and his four cherished grandchildren, Raylan and Blair Burnett, and Gavin and Drake Delaney.

In addition to his parents, Ralph and Clara Burnett, Brad is preceded in death by his sister Bonnie Tausch.

The family would like to thank Lutheran Hospice for the love and care they provided during his final days.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at J. Henry Stuhr, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A burial service will be held on October 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Nashville Methodist Church Cemetery, 302 W. Millersburg Street, Nashville, OH.

Brad will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
