Bonnie Leita Chandler Miller

Bonnie Leita Chandler Miller, 74, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2024, with her daughter by her side. 

Bonnie was born in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Ernest Augusta Chandler and Imogene Prine Chandler and granddaughter of Johnny and Leita Prine. She was a graduate of the St. Andrew’s High School class of ‘67 and resided throughout Charleston her entire life. 

In 1976, Bonnie opened Old Dominion Realtors in Mount Pleasant and served as broker-in-charge and property manager in charge for over 40 years, earning the title of Realtor Emeritus. Outside of real estate, Bonnie was a dedicated volunteer at Crisis Hotline, and a talented artist and interior decorator, and she enjoyed a love of lighthouses and bird watching. She was a member of North Charleston United Methodist Church and a member of the NCUMC Women's Circle.

Bonnie was predeceased by her loving son, Robert Ernest Miller, and sister, Melinda Chandler Kirton. 

She is survived and forever remembered by her daughter, Christine Miller Fowler (Adam) and grandson, Robert "Gus" Fowler of North Charleston; brother, Steve Chandler (Nancy) of Mount Pleasant; nieces, Megan Chandler Lee (Parker Lee) of Mount Pleasant, Jenna Chandler of Charlotte, NC and Meranda Kirton of Charlotte, NC and her former husband and father of her two children, Robert E. Miller Jr. of Mount Pleasant.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Bonnie's caregivers, Valarie Lloyd, Tomeko Jenkins, and Ariana Glenn, who made it possible for her to live her last months comfortably in her home.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. A memorial message may be sent to the family on our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
