Bobby Thomas Gibson, 80, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Joyce Juanita Chandler Gibson, died Thursday, February 20, 2014. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. His funeral service will begin at 4:30 pm. Interment will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens.

Bobby was born June 8, 1933 in Rockingham, NC, son of the late William J. Gibson and the late Della Chamberlain Gibson. He played baseball as a youth and was an Army veteran. He retired from MacAlloy Steel as a supervisor.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joyce Gibson; step-sons: Lawrence Weatherford, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Goose Creek, SC, Jimmy Weatherford and his wife, Melissa, of Moncks Corner, SC and Alan Weatherford and his wife, Tawnya, of Hanahan, SC; sisters: Lillie Spain of VA, Kathryn Molony of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Ms. Lee Gibson O'Connell of Chicago, IL; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: William E. Gibson, Kenneth M. Gibson, Fred Gibson and Ms. Jean Boris.
