BM1 Richard Walter Mock USN (Ret.),74, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Sharon Morris Mock entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family, and close friends Thursday, December 15, 2016. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 18, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held at the graveside Sunday December 18, 2016 in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, Old Hwy 52, Moncks Corner at 3:30 p.m.
Richard was born December 5, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Raymond John Mock and Helen Spradling Mock. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Richard was retired Auto Parts Delivery person with Rick Hendrick. He was the past Commander of VFW 5091, member of the American Legion #179.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Mock of Charleston, SC; four daughters, Jeanette Mock of NY, Constance "Connie" Polacek (Don) of Ravenel, SC, Vikki LaFountaine (John) of NY, Cheryl Kay Brittain (Paul) of Lexington, NC; son, Ricky Allen Nelson (Angela) of Harleyville, SC; two brothers, Steve Mock, and John Mock both of OH; 19 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Richard was predeceased in death by three brothers, one sister and a great-granddaughter Lauren.
