Blondell McDurmont Davison, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Alfred Wesley Davison died Tuesday, December 19, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Hibben United Methodist Church, 690 Coleman Boulevard at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road. The family will receive friends Wednesday in Hibben United Methodist Church from 10:00 am until time of the service. Blondell was born June 22, 1925 in Samson, Alabama, daughter of the late Fred Lehman McDurmont and the late Lillie Beckham McDurmont. She worked at Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia in1946 and 1947. She married Alfred W. Davison in May of 1947 and moved to Lunenburg, MA. There she worked at Fort Devens and raised her two daughters. She and her family moved to Jasper. Alabama in 1962 where her husband opened Arrow shirt plants. While in Jasper, AL she was the legal secretary to Congressman Carl Elliott. In 1980 following her husband's career, they moved to Atlanta, GA and from there to Mt. Pleasant in 1989. She was very active with Nearly New Shop in Jasper, Alabama, helped establish Christ United Methodist Church in Jasper, Alabama and logged over 5,000 hours as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was also a member of Hibben United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, SC.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol D. Byrnes (Robert) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Pamela D. Burgess (Joel) of Talladega, AL; two granddaughters, Jennifer M. Byrnes of Mount Pleasant, SC and Michelle L. Burgess (Joel) of Toronto, Canada; great granddaughter, Mehren Grace Hewlett; two brothers, Bill McDurmont and Bob McDurmont, both of Pensacola, FL; sister, Andree M. Holley of Samson, AL and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Alfred W. Davison, sister, Pauline M. Bissonnette and brother, Edwin McDurmont
