Blanche Elizabeth Woodruff Wallace, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011. The relatives and friends of Blanche Wallace are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends following the service.
Blanche was born on February 16, 1928 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Marvin Cavanus Woodruff and Ruth Elizabeth Hill Woodruff. She worked as an Engineer and then an Outside Plant Engineer for Southern Bell, retiring after it became Bell South. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was active in her church, Hibben United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Charles Lind Wallace and his wife, Lynne of Lawrenceville, GA and Laurie Ann Wallace Smith and her husband, Michael, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one sister, JoAnn Woodruff Hammond and her husband, Dempsey, of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Wallace (Smith), Jonathon Lind Wallace, Christopher Charles Roberts, Daniel George Schram, III, Justin Matthew Schram and Michael Logan Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Matthew Schram, Hunter Lee Schram, Alexis Nicole Roberts, and Josephine Isabella Roberts. Blanche was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Wallace.
The family requests that donation be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.
