Blanche Elizabeth Creech Beach, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, predeceased by her first husband, Novel Young and widow of Charles R. Beach entered into eternal life Tuesday, November 8, 2016. A service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Highway at 12:00 p.m. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Blanche was born January 2, 1926 in Barnwell County, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Creech and Necia Mae Creech. In 1936, she moved to Charleston, where she attended Murray High School, Class of 1944. She was a dedicated civil servant for 26 years, beginning her career at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and retiring from the office of US Research and Development, The Hague, Netherlands. Blanche was a longtime, faithful member of Ashley River Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by three brothers: W. Howard Creech, James H. Creech, and W. Francis Creech; and three sisters: Hester Creech Carter, Miriam Creech Pooser, and Myrtle Creech Wickert. She was a loving aunt to four generations of nieces and nephews and is survived by many.
