Billy Ray Wilson, 79, of Hanahan, SC, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 peacefully at home.

Born April 15, 1931 in Brookneal, Virginia, Billy Ray was one of five sons of Charlie Wilson and Flora Whitlow Wilson.  

He was a US Navy veteran and a retired district manager for Howard Johnson Restaurants. He was currently employed at the Coastal Carolina Flea Market in Ladson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruth S. Wilson of Hanahan and daughter, Vicki B. Cheek of Houston, TX.  He was preceded in death by four brothers.

The memorial service will be held in Northwood Baptist Church, 2200 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
