Billie Alma Strickland

Billie Alma Strickland, 93, of Hanahan, SC, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Billie was born October 26, 1924 in Rosinville, SC, the youngest of 21 children of the late Julius Kizer and the late Mary DeWitt Kizer. She was formerly employed by Manhattan Shirt Factory and retired from Levi-Strauss. She was an avid gardener, loved her flowers, crocheting and cross stitching. Billie attended Highland Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Dantzler (Susan) of Hanahan, SC; daughter, Delores Stevenson (Joe) of Goose Creek, SC; ten grandchildren: Trey Dantzler, Ginger Carlson, Kimberly Lynn, Tiffany Crawford, Lisa Duncan, Charlena Dantzler-Mulvihill, Gina Dantzler, Tracey Gilbert, Kim Craven, Cindy Metts; sister, Mattie Mizzell of Rosinville, SC; stepdaughter-in-law, Christine Strickland of Moncks Corner, SC; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Benjamin Strickland; son, Daniel Wesley Dantzler, Jr.; stepson, Tony Strickland.
