Billie Jean Bright, 79, of Summerville, South Carolina, wife of William N. Bright entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 24, 2015. Her service will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Jean was born February 21, 1936 in Marshall, Texas, daughter of the late William Aubrey Smith and Mozelle Spann Smith. After retiring from Grande Home Furnishings in Johnson City, TN, Jean and Bill moved to Charleston, SC, so that they could be near their grandchildren. Jean was an avid quilter, and she shared her creations with all of her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, William N. Bright of Summerville, SC, three daughters, Tina Bright of Melbourne, FL, Laura Bright Toney and her husband Dennis of Charleston, SC, Lisa Bright McLernon and her husband Chris of Charleston, SC, step-son, Perry Bright and his wife Shirley of Deerlodge, TN, two sisters, Doris Stone of Frisco, TX, Susie Arning of Galveston, TX, brother, Don Smith of AZ, eight grandchildren, Ian, Delaney, Graham, Rachael, Daniel, Emma, Shawn, Matthew; one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
