Beverly Sloan Shuler

Beverly Sloan Shuler, 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Jacob O'Brien Shuler, DVM, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:30 am. Entombment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 10:30 am until time of the service at the funeral chapel.

Beverly was born November 4, 1927 in Clemson, South Carolina, daughter of the late Augustus Hoke Sloan and Lena Andrews Sloan. A loving homemaker, she was a faithful member of Hibben United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and led the youth group for many years. Beverly loved her family and genealogy. She loved Clemson University and all things Clemson. Beverly was a proud member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the South Carolina Genealogical Society, of which she was a Charter Member and Past President.

She is survived by her children, Nancy "Mitzi" Wright and her husband, Jack C. Wright of Mount Pleasant, SC, Joy S. Smith and her husband, H.N. Rock Smith of Anderson, SC, Jacob O'Bryan Shuler and his wife, Shelley Shuler of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Hoke Shuler and his wife, Beth Shuler of Mount Pleasant, SC; and her nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
