Beverly Jean Rast Sheldon, 80, of Summerville, SC, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 6, 2013. All services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, N. Charleston.

Jean was born March 16, 1933 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Marion Rast and the late Bertha Blanton Rast. She was a member and retired church secretary for Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Jean previously worked in the banking industry, was a member of the ISO Downtown and was an actress with the Dock Street Theater in community plays.

She is survived by her son, Russell Sheldon (Debra) and her daughter, Theresa Sheldon-Dowdy, all of North Charleston; her grandchildren, Kyle, Rachel, Brook, Garrett, Austin and Hannah; brother, Marion Rast of Yonges Island; and sister, Catherine Sienza of Illinois.
