Beverley Waugh Fisher, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, died on Thursday, February 28, 2019. She is the widow of the late Rear Admiral Lee W. Fisher. Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019, in the Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1885 Rifle Range Road at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at the Burges Center at Franke at Seaside.
Beverley was born April 20, 1926, in Ware, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Richard J. Waugh and the late Phyllis Collins Waugh. She graduated from Penn State University. Beverley was married for 67 years to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Lee W. Fisher. Beverley was frequently sought out for her wit, wisdom and innovative vision in prose and poetry as contributor and editor of such publications as Navy Wives and the Franke Flyer newsletter. Her numerous personalized poetry cards have also been cherished and retained by many throughout the years.
Beverley is survived by daughter-in-law Sharron Fisher, grandson Michael Fisher (Maryann), sister-in-law Jean Stonesifer, nieces Jene Lyons (Dave), Marilyn Waugh-Stinnette (Kevin) and Patty Key (James), and nephews Joseph Stonesifer, Andrew Beling (Carolyn), Richard T. Waugh (Daphne), and John Stonesifer (Susan). She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Richard J. Waugh, her sister Anne Beling, and her two children, Susan Fisher Wallace and Lee W. Fisher, Jr.
