Betty Ruth Howard Tucker

Entered into the Arms of Jesus on the morning of March 22, 2011, Betty Ruth Howard Tucker, widow of James "Carl" Tucker.  Residence, James Island, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services at Charleston Baptist Church, Friday, March 25, 2011, at 10 am.  Committal services will follow at James Island Presbyterian Churchyard.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 5 until 7 pm.

Betty was born in Charleston, South Carolina on August 16, 1945, daughter of the late Catherine Sweat Howard and Avery Leroy Howard.  She worked with First Federal Bank in the Consumer Loans Department.  She and was a member of Charleston Baptist Church and a member of the Pilot's Club. 

Surviving are four children, Kathy Lively and husband Charles of Ft. Smith, AR, Gary Baber and wife Monica of Ft. Smith, AR, Marla Hill and husband Terence of Ft. Smith, AR, Telairra Lovell of Ft. Smith, AR, five step children, Pam McInnis and husband Dan of Charleston, Greg Tucker and wife Sherry of Charleston, Paul Tucker and wife JoAnne of Charleston, Jeanne Hilyer and husband Keith of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Julie Case and husband Mark of Rock Hill, SC; three sisters and a brother, Barbara Hardwick of Charleston, Alice Aikman of Indianapolis, IN, Norma Field of Parkers Ferry, SC, Lucky Howard of Cottageville, SC; fifteen grandchildren, Adam Selby, Saxon Lovell, Finley and Greyson Baber, Charles Lively, Jr., Dalton Hill, Christian McInnis, Jake and Ean Tucker, Taylor and Jordan Hilyer, Conner and Jennings Case, Bailey and Jenna Tucker, four great-grandchildren, Demi Selby, Crissy, Haden, and Killian Lively.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Avery L. Howard Jr.
