Betty Frances Proctor Spell, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of John H. Spell entered into eternal rest Monday, February 12, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
Betty was born January 6, 1934 in Twin City, Georgia, daughter of the late Remer Francis Proctor and Bessie Johnson Proctor. She was a retired Seamstress and a member of Charleston First Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Spell, son, Ronald Eugene Spell (Mary) of Summerville, SC; two daughters, Sharon Elaine Smoak (Frank) of Charleston, SC, Karen Elizabeth Sibert (Greg) of Goose Creek, SC; eight grand children, and fifteen great-grand children; one sister, Loretta Mears of Macon, GA and one brother, James Proctor of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Leona Andrews of Charleston, Naomi Linder of Columbia, SC, Ruby Oglesby and Audrey Barnwell of Twin City, GA and a brother Marlow Proctor of Orange County, CA.
