Betty Ann Smith

Betty Ann Powers Smith, 68, of North Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 12, 2013. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in J.HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Betty was born June 23, 1945 in Conway, SC, the eldest of eight children of the late Foster Willow Powers and the late Ella Guyton Powers. She held an Associate's Degree in Psychology and Science and was very involved in her community. Betty was a member of Northwood Baptist Church and former member of Holmes Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jessie Robert Smith II (Meredith) of Hanahan; three grandchildren: Christian R. Smith, USMC, Jason L. Reynolds and Nevaeh G. Reynolds; seven brothers: Bobby Powers (Patricia) of Goose Creek, Foster LeRoy Powers of North Charleston, Melvin Powers of Eutawville, Lonnie H. Powers (Beverly) of Summerville, Richard M. Powers (Roseanne) of Cortland, OH, Guy K. Powers (Cindy) of Goose Creek and Bruce D.Powers (Tracey) of Moncks Corner; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
