Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Dr., Mt. Pleasant, SC at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Betty was born on September 10, 1937, in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter of the late Russell Ray Browning and Callis Tanner Browning. She spent her childhood years in Columbia, SC and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1955. She attended Lander University in Greenwood, SC. Betty married her soul mate, Charles, in 1959. She and her husband, Charles, moved to Mount Pleasant in 1960, where they raised their three children. When the children were older, she worked as an office manager at Regis Milk Company until she retired. Betty loved being outdoors. She enjoyed many days at the beach, working in her yard, planning family gatherings and being surrounded by family and friends. Betty had a heart of gold and enjoyed giving to others. She showed so much compassion towards helping others, including animals. She rescued many animals over the years. She was a true joy to be around. She was happy, creative, compassionate, energetic (aka Energizer Bunny), and just so much fun to be around!
She is survived by her children, Charles (Chuck) A. Miller, Jr., Karen M. Benedict (Cam); Russell R. Miller (Teri); and four grandchildren, Brittany Benedict Newby (Shawn), Kelly Benedict Stoe (Tim), Caroline Miller, and Sidney Miller; four great grandchildren, Sadie Grace Newby, Hudson Newby, Charlotte Stoe, and Nora Rae Miller; her brother, Buddy Browning; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Corbin.
