Betty A. Davenport Ludwig

Betty A. Davenport Ludwig, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Dwight L. Ludwig, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.

Betty was born November 14, 1933 in Norfolk, Virginia, daughter of the late Floyd Davenport and Martha Green. Betty volunteered at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY, Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, as well as reTAILS. She was also a dedicated member of the Charleston Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha A. Ritter; son, Steven L. Ludwig (Debbi); as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she was so close to and deeply loved. In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Jeff Ludwig; and brother, Roy Davenport.

Memorial donations can be made in Betty's memory to the MUSC Children's Health/NICU or to the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, NY.
