Liz Hamilton

Betty "Liz" Elizabeth Hamilton, 70, of Ladson, South Carolina, wife of the late Mark Wade Hamilton entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Her Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC 29902 at 10 am.

Liz was born May 4, 1953, in Paducah, Kentucky, daughter of the late Lloyd William Koehler and Betty Poole Koehler.  She was a retired Commercial Insurance underwriter and a member of the Charleston Association of Insurance Professionals, Regional Member of Insurance Professionals and National Member of International Association of Insurance Professionals. Liz loved her cats, Rascal, Bleu Boy and Princess. She was an avid antique collector. Never met a stranger and her heart was pure. She was a spit fire of a woman, you never had to question where you stood with her. Derek was her everything. 

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Amber Hamilton-Lipsey (Mark); grandson, Derek Lipsey; sister-in-love, Vicki Koehler; Step grandchildren, Amanda and Cameron Lipsey; 2 Brother-in-laws, Dudley and Wayne Hamilton, 3 sister-in-laws, Jerrie Edging, Twila Barbee, and Ramie "Red" Wilkerson; adopted by heart, Jo Seigler - Horne, James D. Bartz, and Sandi Hart Steele, many loved nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.  Predeceased by her parents, husband, siblings, Alfred and Robert Koehler, and sister-in-law, Gettie Wilcox.
