Betty Blake Genes

Betty Blake Genes, 69, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late John "Tony" Anthony Genes, died Monday, June 15, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 18, 2015 in Stuhr's North Area Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Betty was born November 22, 1945 in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Grady L Blake and the late Pauline Cox Blake. She graduated from North Charleston High School and worked for Southern Bell as an Operator and later worked for News America Marketing. Betty was a loving homemaker and mother to her three children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Paula Ross, and her husband, Chris, of Hanahan, SC, Nancy Elizabeth Galloway, and her husband, Gary, of Mills River, NC; one son, John Anthony Genes II, and his wife, Marie, of North Charleston, SC; two grandsons, John "Tony" Anthony Genes III, of North Charleston, SC and Isaac Walker Dermid II, of Mills River, NC; one granddaughter, Mary Lizzy Genes, of North Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Buddy Blake.
