Betty Small Geer, 76, of Charleston, SC, wife of A. Eugene Geer, Jr., died Sunday, December 21, 2014. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in St. Philip's Church, 142 Church Street, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, St. Philip's Churchyard. Arrangements by J. Betty was born September 17, 1938 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late George Gordon Small and the late Betty Sovacool Small. She attended the University of South Carolina and was a member of St. Philip's Church. Betty was a member of The Junior League of Charleston, The Charleston Garden Club, The Lowcountry Garden Club, a charter member of The Charleston Horticultural Society and a member of The Ladies Benevolent Society. She was the retired owner of Charleston Bouquets and later Celebrations by Design. Celebrations was the floral design firm that handled the grand opening for Charleston Place, East Cooper Hospital and Governor Campbell's inauguration.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; her daughter, Cordes Geer Simpson (Jim); two sons, Andrew Eugene Geer III, M.D. (Susan) and W. Gordon Geer (Bonnie); three grandchildren: Caroline Cordes Simpson, Elizabeth Porter Geer and Gordon Geer, Jr.; and a nephew, G. Gordon Small III; all of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, G. Gordon Small, Jr.
