Betty Owens Funderburk

Betty Owens Funderburk, 73, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of John Bernard Funderburk, Jr., entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Betty Jo was born August 13, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Sam Tillman Owens and Sarah Ackermann Owens. She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School and Trident Technical College where she received her associates degree. Betty Jo was retired from the VA Hospital as the Chief of Eligibility. She was a member of Trinity Bible Church. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Bernard Funderburk, Jr. of Charleston, SC; daughter, Angela F. Hornish (Ryan) of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren, Blake Hornish, Meryl Hornish, Payne Hornish, and Mills Hornish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Tillman Owens, Jr. Memorials may be made to Trinity Bible Church, 3589 Mary Ader Drive, Charleston, SC 29414.
