Betty was born February 26, 1940, in Horry County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Lloyd Sessions and Mary Emily Hinson. She found meaning in the quiet routines of everyday life. Betty loved talking on the phone, never in a hurry, always taking the time to truly connect. Those conversations were her way of staying close to the people she cared about, making sure they felt remembered and included. She also took pride in keeping her home clean and well kept, tending to it with steady care. These simple routines were not small to her. They were expressions of love, comfort, and the way she made space for others in her world.
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Angela Marie (Robert) Compton of Acworth, Georgia, Karen Byrd of Acworth, Georgia, and Tammy Cottle of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; her sister, Patsy (Bob) Lawless; two grandchildren, Jericka Bird and Robby Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Madison Henry, Sierra Stephen, and Christopher Compton; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kehlani Compton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Cottle; her daughter, Colleen Kohn; her grandchild, Rachel Compton; her brother, Robert Lloyd Sessions; and her parents, Mary Emily Sessions and Lloyd Sessions.
Flowers will be accepted.
