Betty Jeanne Scott Cooper

Betty Jeanne Cooper, 87, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Harold Joe Cooper entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 31, 2017. She is the daughter of the late Leonard Whelma Scott and the late Lucille Bendt Scott, and the sister of the late Leonard Whelma Scott, Jr. and Virginia Gerkin Scott.

Born on September 1, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, she attended Memminger High School, Limestone College and Rice Business School. She worked at Carolina Shipping Company.

A life long member of Saint Barnabas Lutheran Church, she served as a devoted Sunday School Teacher and a member of the choir.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Harold (Rock) J. Cooper; her children, John and Candi Cooper, Paul and Pam Cooper, Jeff Cooper and Annette Cooper; her grandchildren, Mark and Joanna Cooper, Mandy and Clint Martin, Rhett Cooper, Renee Cooper, Rachel Cooper, Kevin Cooper, and Craig Bullock; great grandchildren, Cooper Martin, Mackenzie Bullock, and Zachary Bullock; and her dearest friends, Claire, Joanie, Delores, Lee and the "Dirty Dozen."

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 3, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC, MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 4, 2017 in St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 45 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
