Betty Nolte Carpenter

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of December 1, 2010, Betty Nolte Carpenter, widow of James Calvin "Snookie" Carpenter.  Residence, Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in St. Johannes Lutheran Church, Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 12 noon. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Friday between 5-7 pm.

Mrs. Carpenter was born March 13, 1921, the daughter of J.F.H.C. Nolte and Dorothea Anna Lambach Nolte.  She was a graduate of Memminger High School and Stokes Business School. She retired as an administrative assistant with Lockheed Martin Corp. Mrs. Carpenter was a lifetime member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church. She was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed yard work.

She is survived by two daughters: Diane Carpenter of Lenoir, NC and Genelle C. Stuckey (Dwight) of Hanahan, SC; two sons: J.C. "Cal" Carpenter, Jr.( Jane) of Bennett, CO. and Bobby R. Carpenter (Mona) of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren: Bobby Kim, Anne and David; four great grandchildren: Jordan, Sarah, Cierra, and James.
