Betty Shealey Burn, 72, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 4, 2013. Her funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.
Betty was born October 31, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Homer W. Shealey and Dorothy Stanford Shealey. She was a librarian at the James Island Public Library for 16 years and supervised the mail system at the Department of Natural Resources for 13 years.
She is survived by her mother; son, Eric L. Burn and his wife Veronica; two granddaughters, Lindsay and Laura; and a dear friend, Genny Capitan, all of Charleston, SC.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 2000 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Ste. 112, Charleston, SC 29407.
