Betty Alma Carlson Boaz

Betty Alma Christine Carlson Boaz, 79, widow of Charles W. Boaz, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011. 

The relatives and friends of Betty Boaz are invited to attend her Funeral Service Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Hibben United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Saturday at the church 90 minutes prior to the service.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Mrs. Boaz was born May 27, 1932 in Norwood, MA, daughter of Fred Carlson and Astrid Peterson Carlson. She was a graduate of Wheaton College, Norton, MA and a member of the Hibben United Methodist Church. She was Membership Chair on the church's Administrative Board, President of The United Methodist Women for many years, leader of the Joy Circle, and was a Sunday school teacher for over 48 years.

Mrs. Boaz is survived by her daughter, Karen Pawlukiewicz (Jamie) of Cincinnati, OH; two sons, Neil W. Boaz (Stephanie) of Kingsport, TN and Christopher C. Boaz (Denise) of Duncannon, PA; three brothers, Fred Carlson, Jr. of FL, Neil Carlson of FL and David Carlson of MA; and her ten grandchildren, who she adored. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hibben United Methodist Church, 690 Coleman Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
