Betty Jaunette Bice has gone home to Jesus to enjoy the countless blessings of Her Savior’s grace.
Through 49 years of marriage, she and her husband Dan dedicated more than four decades to the Lord’s ministry through CRU, International Students Incorporated, and the Navigators. Together they followed the Lord’s call to minister to international students throughout the United States, beginning in San Bernardino, CA, and then moving to Azusa, CA; Madison, WI; Bloomington, IN; Falls Church, VA; and Toledo, OH. Betty led English conversation classes and welcomed students into her home for Christmas and holiday celebrations, Bible studies, and potluck lunches while helping her husband coordinate campuswide outreaches.
In addition to her ministry to international students, Betty taught Kindergarten through 3rd grade at local Christian schools and cared deeply for her students, often staying up late into the night to write encouraging comments on every paper she graded.
Perhaps her greatest ministry was to her family. She treasured time with her husband Dan, son Brent, daughter-in-law Alina, and grandchildren Jonathan, Sophia Grace, Joshua, and Josiah. She loved her brother Bob, her sisters-in-law Terrie and Bonnie, and her nephews and nieces Rob, Kathy, Jon, Michele, Joe, Brian, Alexandra, Brandon, Emily, Michon, and Rich. A devoted daughter, Betty spent countless hours caring for her father Herbert and her mother Eileen during their later years.
After retiring in 2012, Betty and her husband moved to Summerville, SC, to enjoy time with their son Brent and daughter-in-law Alina, and (of course) her grandchildren. While Parkinsonism limited her mobility in later years, Betty was known for her constant smile, loyal friendship, and commitment to prayer.
Born December 12, 1942, Betty was welcomed into her Lord’s arms on August 21, 2024.
