Betty "Betsy" Gawler Cline, 101, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Dick Moore Cline, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, November 16, 2023. Her funeral service will be held graveside in the family cemetery in North Carolina. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. 

Betsy was born November 17, 1922 in Alexandria, Virginia, daughter of the late Charles Stewart Gawler and Ruth Gardner Gawler. She attended the University of South Carolina and graduated from Washington School for Secretaries. Betsy retired from Drayton Hall Middle School, and attended Bethel Methodist Church. She was a member of the College of Charleston Lecture group and an alumni of Phi Beth Phi. In addition to her love of travel, Betsy also volunteered at Roper Hospital for over 30 years. 

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Lee Davis of Wadmalaw Island; her son, Dick Cline (Terri) of Cummings, Georgia; granddaughters: Katie Cline and Heather Moulder (Brad); and grandson, Andy Cline.  Betsy was predeceased by her sister, Burnice Gawler and a son-in-law Carroll Davis.

The family would also like to thank Betsy's wonderful caregivers at Franke at Seaside with special thanks to Sandra Davis. 

Memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home, 2900 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29205.
