Betty Ann Lassiter, 80, of North Charleston, SC; wife of J. L. Lassiter, died Saturday, December 3, 2011, peacefully at home.

Born March 8, 1931 in Valdosta, Georgia; she was one of three children of Harry G. Bridges, Sr., and Vallie Tyus Bridges.

Betty was a former secretary for Frazier Fertilizer Company and sales clerk in Joli's Maternity Store for seven years. She was a member of the Charleston Heights Baptist Church.

Betty is survived by her husband of 29 years, J.L. of North Charleston; daughter, Bonnie DeVaun of Summerville; two grandchildren, Emma DeVaun of Summerville and Erik DeVaun of Slidell, LA; sister-in-law Virginia Bridges of Charleston; three nephews: Danny Bridges, David Bridges, Jimmy Bridges; and niece Shirley and her husband Butch Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth; and brother Harry Jr.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, Friday, December 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's North Area Chapel Thursday, December 8, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
