Bette Lou Buie Duc, 90, of Awendaw, South Carolina, widow of William O. Duc, Jr. entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 31, 2017. The funeral service will be private. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Bette Lou was born September 25, 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Edison Buie and Jennie Wolfe Prause. She was a graduate of Memminger High School. She was a devoted wife of her beloved husband, Bill, to who she was married for 59 years. She previously worked as a bookkeeper for Regals Department Store and later for Sam Solomon Company. She was a member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her two children: Linda Duc Easterlin (Bill) and William O. Duc III (Bernice), both of Charleston; three grandchildren: William Ashley Easterlin (Sara), William O. Duc IV (Maintzie), and Angela Duc Jarvis; six great grandchildren: Emily Elizabeth Easterlin, Benjamin Andrew Easterlin, William Kyle Jarvis, Wesley Ryan Jarvis, Emma Grace Duc, and Isabelle Carson Duc.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Savannah Place and Crescent Hospice for their devoted care during her final days.
