Betsy Ann Worrell, 79, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, widow of MSgt. Eddie W. Worrell USAF (Ret.), died Thursday, January 28, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held graveside Monday, February 1, 2016 in the Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, Old Hwy 52 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Betsy was born March 7, 1936 in Conway, North Carolina, daughter of the late Clayton Smithwick Wiggins and the late Daisy Brake Wiggins. She married her high school sweetheart, Eddie, in 1955 and together they raised three children. They lived overseas in Okinawa, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico. Upon returning to the US, Betsy worked at South Carolina Federal Credit Union for 20 years. She was a member of Ferndale Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Phillips (Ty) of North Charleston, SC and Valerie Mahr (Pat) of Summerville, SC; three grandchildren, Beverly, Alan, and Lindsey; and her sister, Jeanne Edwards of Murfreesboro, NC. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Worrell; and her sister, Peggy Musha.
