Bessie Garvin Jennings Sistare, 96, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of Ravenel, South Carolina, widow of James Henry Sistare and the late Joseph F. Jennings entered into eternal rest Friday, August 24, 2012. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at 2:00 pm . Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens . The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.

Bessie was born December 14, 1915 in Hollywood, South Carolina, daughter of Samuel Warren Garvin and Caroline Platt Garvin. She was a Bus Driver for 15 years with St. Andrews First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of Ravenel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty L. Bratcher of Charleston, SC, daughter, Barbara A. Headrick and husband Jack of Walland, TN, daughter, Judy E. Talbott and husband Pat of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, Louie F. Garvin Sr. of Charleston, SC, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James A. Jennings.
