Bertha Bell Milligan

Bertha Bell Powers Milligan, 96, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Herbert Marion Milligan, Jr., of entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEYCHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Bertha was born April 5, 1922 in Concord, North Carolina, daughter of the late J. Earl Powers and Recie Elizabeth Brinell Powers. She was a retired textile spinner after 25 years working in the spinning room making clothes. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Charleston.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Fulmer; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many adopted grandchildren; her dearest friend and caregiver Rosie Lamm. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Joanne Eddie.
