Bertha Thomas Hudson

Bertha Chapple Thomas Hutson Hudson, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Lee Roy Hudson died Thursday, March 21, 2013. The relatives and friends of Bertha Hudson are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Monday, March 25, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at the chapel immediately following the service. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Churchyard at a later date.

Bertha was born on September 18, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of the late William Angwin and Annie Jane Richards Thomas. She was a Ward Secretary Supervisor at Ralph H. Johnson VA Hospital, member of Charleston Women's Club, loved gardening while working at Abide A While Nursery, was an avid reader and loved to socialize with her friends at Somerby.

She is survived by her son, Edward Hutson and his wife, Linda, of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter Gigi Huneycutt and her husband, Jeff, of Savannah, GA; four grandchildren, Palmer Hutson, Jennifer Howe and her husband, Randy, Sean Huneycutt and Christina Huneycutt; two great grandchildren, Peighton White and Parker White; one brother Gerald Thomas of San Francisco, CA; one step-son Ronald Lynn Hudson of Columbia, SC, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Palmer Hutson, a daughter, Ann Elaine Hutson, a step-grandson, Hunter Hudson and her nine siblings.
