Bert Hoover Powell

Bert Hoover Powell, 85, of Charleston, SC, widower of Barbara Fabian Powell, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 28, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr, West Ashley Chapel. Bert was born July 27, 1928 in Andrews, SC, son of the late John Wesley Powell and Anna Avant Powell. As a child he gave his life to the Lord, and he loved spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, and playing cards with his buddies. He was a retired Supervisor for MacAlloy Company.He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Hilton (Richard, deceased) of Charleston, SC and Marsha Powell of Nashville, TN; sister, Novelene Cribb (Bobby) of Georgetown, SC; granddaughters, Michelle Sabou (Vlad) and Ashley Wheeler (B.J.); grandson, Phillip Amerson (Sarah); great-granddaughters, Hanah Grace and Emma Claire Sabou; Carrington and Berkeley Wheeler; special nephews, Graham Rivers Lindenberg and James Maxwell Lindenberg.
