Benjamin Seabrook Whaley

Benjamin Seabrook Whaley, Sr. "Ben" 72, of Wadmalaw Island, SC, husband of Sarah Bailey Whaley entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 5, 2017. His service will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Rockville Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held at the church fellowship hall following the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Ben was born January 20, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Ephraim Clark Whaley, Sr. and Cornelia Jenkins Whaley. Ben graduated from The Citadel and was a member of Rockville Presbyterian Church and the Sea Island Yacht Club. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Tug Boat Captain from McAllister Towing Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman having grown up in the Town of Rockville. He loved the outdoors.

Ben is survived by his wife Sarah (Sally) Bailey Whaley; daughter, Eleanor Jenkins Whaley, of Folly Beach, SC; son, Benjamin S. Whaley Jr., his wife Tiffany and grandson Ethan Paul Whaley all of Wadmalaw Island; sister, Cornelia Ann Jeffcoat of Hoover, AL; nephews, Wendell Jeffcoat, Jr. and Francis Matthew Roberts.
