Benjamin Franklin Kinard, Jr., 83, of Hanahan, South Carolina, widower of Rose Marie Ramsey Kinard, was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, July 16, 2016. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Monday, July 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road.
Benjamin was born July 12, 1933 in Ruffin, South Carolina, son of the late Benjamin Franklin Kinard, Sr., and of the late Nettie Murdaugh Kinard. He served in the United States Army and was a supervisor with Westvaco Paper Mill. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Carolina Masonic Lodge 375, B.P.O.E., and the Hanahan Senior Center. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of Hanahan High School. He also enjoyed fishing, shrimping, traveling and dancing. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He lived by the motto "Old Guys Rule".
He is survived by three daughters: Sharon Walker (Jeff), Cathy Dillon (Mark), and Angel Siegling (Cas), all of Hanahan, SC; brother, Edward James Kinard (Eloise) of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren: Lindsey, Tiffany, Angela, Mallory, Kelley, Tyler, Drayton, and Tradd; and two great-grandchildren: McKinley and Amelia.
